Introducing WP Easy Uploader

This time I have a plugin for the masses. WP Easy Uploader will make any WordPress user’s life easier. No longer will you have to rely on FTP to upload new plugins, themes, or random files. Now you can take care of those tasks quickly and easily from the admin screen of WordPress.

For full details, check out WP Easy Uploader’s release page.

    Hi… Nice plugin, thank you!

It works but I always get the following warning:

Warning: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Compilation failed: unknown property name after \P or \p at offset 20 in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mysite…\wp-content\plugins\wp-easy-uploader\wp-easy-uploader.php on line 228

Any help in removing it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks again. Peter

I’m glad that you like it Peter.

Can you check which version you are using? The 1.0.6 version added a fix that should address that issue. If you could, please ensure that you are using that version and then let me know whether or not the problem happens again.

    Hi Chris… yep I’m using 1.06
Hope you don’t mind the bad news!

I don’t mind, but it does confuse me a bit. Seems like I need to spin up a test Windows server so that I can test it on that platform. Oh well… Back to the ultimate joy of debugging.

      Thanks for the feedback.

    Hi,
Would you be willing to consider developing a plugin that adds a client upload ability to a sidebar of a WP site? I have looked at all of the upload / FTP plugins, but they are all about managing WP. I would like to add a login in a sidebar that give someone the opportunity of uploading files to a specific folder only and then, maybe, emails me they’ve done it.
    Best wishes.

    Thanks for the comment Jim.

I appreciate that you feel that I could produce the plugin, but it’s not the type of project that I’d like to take up. I’ve sent you an email with a more detailed response.

    Hi!
Are there any plans to make it wp3.0 compatible?
    Thanks!

    • gaarai says:

I just installed, activated, and used it on the latest development builder of WP, and it works great. What problems are you having?

      • Renato says:

        Thanks for the reply!
It just breaks may install. It says I don’t have permission to access the dashboard. That’s it, doesn’t give any more clues.

Could I get the following pieces of informaiton?

          • Did the plugin ever work properly on your site?
          • Can you give me the exact error message?
          • Delete the wp-easy-uploader plugin directory so you can access the site again. If you disable all your other plugins and reinstall the plugin, does it work with the other plugins disabled? If so, what plugins is your site running?
          • Renato says:

Ok. Sorry for the lack of information.

No, it didn’t ever work properly, cause this is the first time I tried to install it, and wp version was already 3.0.

The error messagem was “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

I didn’t try to run it with the other plugins deactivated, but I’ll do it and try to discover which one may be conflicting with easy-uploader. That must be the cause, since you didn’t have problems.

          • Renato says:

Did it but to no avail. Deactivated all plugins but the same error ocurred.
            Thanks for your patience.
